The Dirillo Lake is located in eastern Sicily, in the municipalities of Licodia Eubea (CT) and Monterosso Almo (RG). It is an artificial lake created by the damming of the river through the Dirillo and Ragoleto. The lake is nestled in a landscape of greenery. The waters are home to various species of fish such as pike lake, trout, carp and perch. From the eastern shore of the lake you can reach the Canalazzo Park wooded complex consists of coniferous and oak species that are slowly giving way to more and more oaks typical of the area. The top of the mountain was settled by indigenous peoples at the beginning of the Iron Age and soon after with the addition of the Greeks, the village was Hellenized.
